| St. Luke United Methodist Church youth grouphas grown to a multi-national ministry of 60 members who meet on a weekly basis to worship God and receive training through the teaching of God¡¯s Word. The 1.5 and 2ndgeneration members, who will lead this next generation, are given visions for the kingdom of God. They are strengthened also in their faith and Christian values, through the Word and spiritual discipleship.
St. Luke UMC Youth Group, anticipating Christ's return (Mal.4:4-5), prepares young people to become mighty warriors through the Word of God, and desires to share the calling of hope within our churches. God does not accept worship that follows form or ritual, but desires true worship (Rom.12:1-2), the same worship that Abraham gave when he sacrificed his son Isaac (Gen. 22:5). By simply offering God our lives, and not only our Sundays, we begin to partake in that true worship. We understand that teenagers are still young, often facing many difficulties. However, through the discovery of their own weaknesses and confirmation of God's purpose through the Word, we pray that these teenagers will possess a solid vision for the kingdom of God.
We have one hope. And that is to live likeJesus lived. With the heart of Jesus, we must make it our purpose to live His life. We strive to serve the lost sheep with the humble and obedient "attitude of Jesus," (Phil. 2:5) and also with John 10:10 in mind: "I came that they may have life, and haveit abundantly." We know that we must not be satisfied with salvation only, but hope to go to the land of Canaan, the Promise Land that God has prepared for this generation. We will declare our King and glorious Lord, who manifests the praises of His people, through healing and renewal, until His return.
